RM 2/c Joe K. Grose, son of Mrs. Grace Grose, graduated from Tipton High School. Enter Navy in July, 1942, trained in San Diego and Treasure Island, Cal.; served in Pearl Harbor, New Hebrides, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Australia, the Solomons, the Admiralties the Carolines, New Guinea, Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Ellice Islands, the Gilberts, the Marshalls, the Philippines, Japan, and served aboard the U. S. S. Tryon. Awarded Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, one Silver Star, two Bronze Stars.
