T/4 John R. Bell, son of Mrs. Lou Bell, attended school in Davidson; husband of Irene Bell. Entered service in April 1944, trained in Ft. Jackson, S. C.; went overseas in Nov. 1944; served in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia. Awarded Good Conduct Medal, ETO Ribbon with two Battle Stars.
