Sgt. Gene C.E. Bigbie, son of Rev. and Mrs. C. O. Bigbie, graduated from Ringling High School. Entered the army in 1944, trained in Camp Chaffee, Ark., Camp Wolters, Texas, Ft. Ord, Cal; went overseas in Feb.1944; served in Leyte, the Philippines, Japan. Awarded Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with five Battle Stars.
