S/Sgt. Arvel Drake, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Drake, attended Frederick High School; husband of the former Janet Hurley. Entered the Marines in 1938, trained in San Diego, Cal, North Carolina, Santa Fe, N.M, Amarillo, Texas; served in Pearl Harbor and Dallas, Texas. Awarded Atlantic Theatre Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon.
