S/Sgt. Sherman T. Whitmore, son of Mrs. Janie Whitmore, attended Sherwood School.  Entered Army in Sept., 1943, trained in Camp Walters, Texas, Ft. Ord, Cal.; served in Guadalcanal, New Caledonia, the Philippines; is now on duty in Yokohama, Japan. Awarded Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, Victory Ribbon. (As per original 1940's publication.)
