T/5 John Hugh Taylor, son of Mrs. Mattie B. Taylor, graduated from Weaver High School; husband of the former Gussie Mae Soloman. Entered Army in Jan., 1942, trained in Camp Roberts, Cal.; went overseas in May, 1942, and served in the Aleutians, returned to the States, stationed in Camp Shelby, Miss.; went overseas again, served in England, France, Belgium and Germany; was discharged in Sept., 1945.  Awarded Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon with one Battle Star, ETO Ribbon with two Battle Stars.
